Tashiana is passionate about learning, creativity through the dramatic arts and mātauranga Māori. She is an experienced secondary educator having taught Drama in a few kura around Kirikiriroa including Sacred Heart Girls’ College, Melville High School and Hamilton Girls High School between the years 2015 - 2023. A call to return home to Taumarunui in 2024 had her entering primary education as Deputy Principal at Manunui School for a year. Now, she enters intermediate education in Ōtautahi as Acting Assistant Principal at Chisnallwood Intermediate School and Kaiarataki o Te Kākano I Ruia Mai Classes. Her collaboration with Whakaari Aotearoa began in 2023 with the creation of some Mātauranga Māori resources and online workshops. This led to a workshop at 2024 Kia Tōnui Conference. She hopes to continue this mahi in 2025 as a member of the National Executive.
