Unpacking the Drama Curriculum

This curriculum unpacking resource consists of eight A3 colour-coded posters that unpack each level of the New Zealand Curriculum.

The purpose of this resource is to support early-career teachers in a curriculum first approach to planning, teaching, performance, assessment and reporting.

The posters explain each of the Drama Achievement Objectives and describes what students should be demonstrating at the top, middle and bottom of the curriculum level. The examples provided are not exhaustive; they are suggestions or possibilities.

Because every school is different, a blank template in green has been provided, so you can create your own unpacking posters that suit your strengths as a teacher and centre your students' interests.

Please print in A3 to ensure readability.

Made with support from Networks of Expertise.
Writers: Claire Coleman (Level 1 - 3), Nicole Eichstaedt (Level 4 - 5) and Samantha Wehipeihana (Level 6 - 8)
